iCreate, Inc. was founded in 2005 by Merris Atman. In 2006, iCreate received its IRS 501 (c)(3) status.

The first project was Merris Atman’s Youth Poetry, in Mountainair. With this project, Merris collected poetry from the youth of Mountainair and read them publically at the Annual Sunflower Festival.

The second project was Kay Stillion’s Music to Shelter which provides weekly music education to homeless and disadvantaged individuals. Our first location for this program was at New Day Inc. where Kay started teaching one hour weekly classes in March of 2007. Soon after, Noon Day Ministries and Off Center Arts became our second and third locations that allow us to provide these services. We still provide music education at all three locations under our Educational Outreach Program. We are most grateful for the continued gracious hospitality of New Day, Noon Day Ministries and Off Center Arts.

Our third program was the Community Sharefest. The Community Sharefest was a community gathering in which individuals could share their talents, such as music, poetry, art, crafts, and food. The Town of Mountainair generously provided the use of the Dr. Saul Community Center as a portion of their donation to our organization.

In early 2008, iCreate, Inc. was reorganized and relocated to Mountainair, NM. Kay Stillion became the Executive Director and two of the three programs was united into a single outreach program. The third program, Sharefest, was cancelled to make room for other exciting programs.
